Publish or 'U' perish Getting traffic to your website is paramount to your online success. Private label articles can help you generate that traffic. They can also make you look like an idiot. Posting them “as-is” will not win you any brownie points. You need to massage the articles and inject your own personality.
Before you consider using private label articles as a form of website promotion, take a step back and consider why you should bother using articles at all.
Articles will generate the best kind of traffic for your website…targeted traffic. People who have read your article and click on a link to your website are already pre-qualified. They’ve read your information, they like what you’ve said and want more.
How do you get people from your article to your website?
Generally, when you write an article that’s published online, you are allowed to include a resource box at the end of the article. This is the place to promote yourself and your website. When the article is distributed by other publishers, your resource box is included and readers can click over to your site to learn more about you and your products.
Can articles really generate much traffic?
Yes. You can generate a constant stream of traffic for your website. You may not generate thousands of visitors a day, but the visitors you generate are highly targeted and more likely to become customers. The fact that they’ve come to your website for more information, makes them hot prospects.
Writing one article isn’t going to generate massive amounts of traffic, but writing and publishing articles on a regular basis makes a big difference. When your article gets published in other people’s newsletters and posted on their websites, your exposure grows exponentially.
If you want proof, take a look at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=terry+telford&btnG=Google+Search That link will take you to the Google search engine and land you on a search for Terry Telford. If the link doesn’t work, go to Google, type Terry Telford in the search field and see what you find. Today, there are 489,000 listings. Those are free listings that generate free traffic to my websites.
But there’s a catch.
If you’re like most people, writing an article from scratch is a daunting task. You sit down at your computer and stare at a blank Word document. Your fingers are poised on the keyboard, ready to start typing, but your brain is off in outer space.
Luckily, over the past 18 months, a trend has emerged. The trend is private labelling. Private labelling allows you to take an article or an entire product and claim it as your own. You simply paste your name on it and you’re done. Do I recommend this? No. But with a slight twist, private label articles can become your best friend.
Instead of taking a private label article and simply claiming it as your own, chop it up and use it as research. Here’s the formula.
1. Collect a file of private label articles
2. Organize the articles by topic
3. Pick a topic you want to write an article about
4. Read each article you’ve collected about that topic
5. Copy and paste the best information from each article into a new Word document
6. Organize the information in a logical sequence
7. Edit the article
8. Polish the text and inject your personality
Voila. You have your own article in record time with very little thinking involved.
There are several advantages to this formula.
1. You don’t have to start writing an article from scratch
2. You don’t have to do any research
3. The article is practically written for you
4. You have a unique article, not one that dozens of other people are also using
You can find private label articles all over the place, but if you visit
http://www.thebusinessprofessional.com/plarticles.htm
you can download 100 private label articles for free. They cover several different topics, so you can probably find a couple that apply to you. Just a word of caution, these articles contain good information, but for the most part are poorly written. It’s pretty simple to clean them up. Simply polish the text, add some of your own personality, run a spell check and you’re good to go.
Next step - Publish
Now that you have your article written, you need to get it published. You can contact newsletter publishers in your industry as well as post it on article databases. This technique can boost your traffic almost instantly.
I wrote an article in 2002 about a piece of fantastic pop up software that I had resale rights for. I posted the article on an article database and it was picked up and published by a very well known internet marketer. The day he published his newsletter, I received almost 20 orders for the software. It made my day :)
My favourite sites to post articles are:

There are plenty of others, but listing them here would take up a lot of space.
Article writing is one way to generate targeted traffic for your website. It’s cost effective, time well spent and positions you as an “expert” in your field. I highly recommend you give it a try.
Talk again soon.
Enjoy your day! Terry :) http://www.TheBusinessProfessional.com
PS. There is a limit on the number of people that can download the articles, so you'll want to pick them up while you can.
